March 14, 2012 (6pm-8:30 pm) Mix and Mingle Networking Reception Join PANY, YNPN, & AmeriCorps Alum NY Chapter as we celebrate the commitment of AmeriCorps members & alums with a mix and mingle networking reception at Sutton Place.

Hear a few words from Alexandria Delves (PANY '03 Alumna, Trainer & Volunteer Coordinator at Police Athletic League) about her AmeriCorps experience and learn how to stay connected as alum while staying informed about career & service opportunities throughout NYC.

January 16, 2012 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

 "Reflect and Act"  a day long celebration about the legacy and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.   The Day of Service  included a discussion on Martin Luther King Jr., a reading of one of his inspirational speeches and Ally-led workshops for children on tolerance and Dr. King's legacy.   Participants also came together to create "care packages" for needy community residents. 

December 2, 2011 Everyone Leads Series II: Building Community through the Arts (Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance) 

Featured Panelists Charles Rice Gonzalez (Academy of Arts & Dance), Sheila McDaniel (Studio Museum in Harlem), Risë Wilson (Laundromat Project) discussed the ways that the arts reflect community assets, provide a physical and spiritual space for community change and create local leaders.

November 4, 2011 Everyone Leads Series I: Children and Family Services in New York

Commissioner for the Office of Children and Family Services Gladys Carrion was our speaker for the first Everyone Leads Conversation Series. She gave amazing insight on her life and experience within the corporate and non-profit sector. Many of our Allies identified with her upbringing, struggles, triumphs, and passion for social change. 

November 8, 2011 Everyone Leads Book launch at City Winery

Ally Aissatou Barry, Alum Paul Griffin and Steve Ramos along with CEO Paul Schmitz shared compelling stories on their community work and the meaning of Everyone Leads. Many thanks to all the PANY partners, alumni, and guests allies who participated in making our event a success.  

November 18, 2011 Healthy Living Service Day

PANY in conjunction with the Washington Heights Police Athletic League held a Healthy Living Service Day. 120 students grades K-8th, Allies, Alumni, and Volunteers participated in and led workshops on healthy lifestyle alternatives.
