Ally Applicant Info Center

So you've submitted your application for the next Ally year -- congratulations and thank you! You may now be wondering what to expect next. On this page, you'll find some tips about what you can do at this stage and some resources to prepare you for the next steps.

Visit our blogs. AlliesNext is a blog just for you, and if you haven't already visited, now's a good time. You'll see updates about the application process while getting to know more about us. You can submit questions here, too.  Ally Snapshots is a blog written by thirteen Allies from across the country, sharing their leadership journeys in their own words.

Check the status of your recommendations. If they have not yet been submitted to Public Allies, we suggest you check with your recommendation contacts to make sure your recommendation forms are turned in soon. Most sites will not review an application without them. If you need to re-send a form to your contact, you can go to the "Resume/Recommendations" section of the application.

Check in with your alternate site. Some sites only review applications that have indicated them as your primary site. If you have an alternate site that you are very interested in, it might be a good idea to contact that site.  An easy way to find the contact information is to check right here and click on your community's link.

Get involved. Attend service days, open houses, job fairs, and other Public Allies events in your community. It's a good way to network and put a face on the application you've filed. Most sites have Facebook Fan pages, or check here for a link to the community page you want.

Join our online network. The national Facebook Fan Page is one place to start, or search for a Facebook Page or Group affiliated with your community. You can also follow the Public Allies Twitter feed.
