| The deadline for Fellow applications was March 1, 2011
Next steps for current applicants
Here are the next steps in the process to become a Turning the Tide Fellow
- All applications receive a review. We have received a record number of applications this cycle, but we still hope to complete our review by early March.
- Pending our review completion, we plan to inform applicants if they have moved forward to the interview process by mid-March.
- Moving forward to the interview process does not guarantee a Fellowship position.
- Interviews will take place directly with the community agencies, in person or via phone.
- If the community agency and you both agree to a match, we then begin the process to issue contracts.
- June 1, 2011 is the projected start date for the Fellowship.

Cover letter requirements
- Please indicate which of the six Turning the Tide cities you are willing to work in: Baltimore, Chicago, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Pittsburgh.
- Please address these three questions as part of your cover letter:
1. Turning the Tide Fellows work in extremely rewarding, yet very demanding positions. Due to the intensity that often comes with working with populations with adverse life circumstances, how would you go about ensuring you will remain in such a demanding program for 12 months?
2. We are looking for people who can effectively deliver in their respective positions, but who are also thoughtful about how human services organizations can grow and evolve long-term. How would you go about meeting goals and accountabilities, while also keeping abreast of issues, trends and ideas affecting the broader sector?
3. Your community of Fellows will be wonderful! However, you will rarely meet with the other Fellows in person; much of the community building and learning occurs online and via phone. It is easy to feel disconnected from other people and the training sessions. How will you make sure that you stay connected to the program and other Fellows and not focus solely on your place of employment?
