TURNING THE TIDE PROGRAM

As long as there are problems facing our families and children, there are sure to be inspired young adults willing to rise to the challenge. This program is dedicated to supporting those people in their efforts to make a difference.

Turning the Tide Fellows are AmeriCorps Professional Corps members who work full time in frontline human services and benefit from leadership development and networking.

Sponsoring Agencies join a national network dedicated to supporting the next generation of leadership in their organization and the human services sector. Participating agencies are currently located in six cities: Baltimore, Chicago, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis-St. Paul and Pittsburgh.

Turning the Tide is a joint enterprise of Public Allies and the Alliance for Children and Families since 2007.

Public Allies is the premier pipeline for developing diverse young leaders for the nonprofit sector, and a nationally recognized source for new leadership practices right for our changing times. It operates a signature nonprofit apprenticeship program in 21 cities, a growing alumni leadership network, and a consulting and training division.  For more about Public Allies, click here.

The Alliance for Children and Families provides services to nonprofit organizations that serve children and families and promote economic empowerment for those groups. It represents more than 360 member organizations across North America.  Its mission is to fuse intellectual capital with superior membership services in order to strengthen the capacities of nonprofit child and family serving organizations to serve and advocate for children, families and communities.
