Public Allies Wins Social Capitalist Award

Fast Company Magazine and Monitor Group announced winners of their 2008 Social Capitalist Awards, naming Public Allies as one of the top nonprofits who use business tools to solve the world’s most pressing social problems, and who have demonstrated a consistent and unusually large impact on society.  The 45 nonprofit and for-profit winners are featured in Fast Company’s December/January 2008 issue. Continue reading         (Top)

3 New Sites Launch the Ally Program

We are pleased to welcome (1) Public Allies New Mexico, operating out of the New Mexico Forum for Youth Investment; (2) Public Allies Miami, operating out of the Miami Human Services Coalition of Dade County; and (3) Public Allies San Antonio, operating out of Henry Cisneros' American Sunrise.  Public Allies operates programs in 15 communities with expansion plans to reach 32 cities by the year 2012. Continue reading       (Top)

Nonprofit Sector Workforce Coalition (NSWC) Elects Paul Schmitz as First Chair 

Public Allies' CEO, Paul Schmitz, was recently elected Chair of the NSWC. The coalition is comprised of more than 60 nonprofit organizations, associations, foundations and academic centers focused on addressing issues facing the nonprofit sector workforce. Public Allies Hires Chief Operating Officer 

Cris Ros Dukler is Public Allies’ first Chief Operating Officer (COO), working directly under Paul Schmitz, CEO, to oversee national expansion efforts. Cris brings more than 30 years of experience of executive leadership in the nonprofit, public and private sectors. “Hiring a COO marks a new era for Public Allies, and Cris’ leadership will allow us to significantly scale up our operations over the next few years,” says Paul Schmitz.  Continue reading       (Top)
