Diversity is not an ideal for us. We walk the talk: • 67% of Allies are people of color, 60% are women, 50% have college degrees, and 15% are LGBT. • 83% of partner organizations report Allies are above their average staff member in practicing diversity and inclusion with almost half saying they are “far above average.” Activates Assets We solve problems by applying the often-untapped abilities of community members. • In 2007, 315 Allies helped their organizations collaborate with 905 organizations they had not worked with before. • In 2007, 315 Allies recruited more than 11,148 volunteers who served more than 105,000 hours (an economic value of more than $2 million per Independent Sector). More than 50% of volunteers came from the neighborhoods served. Reaches Results We create the kind of lasting change that happens when new leaders emerge from community. • 95% of Allies have met or exceeded their placement organizations’ service goals. • Our Alumni are more than twice as active in volunteer, civic and political activities than their peers, and over 80% of Public Allies graduates continue to work in the nonprofit and public sectors. • Nonprofits hosting an Ally save over $20,000 as compared to what it would cost to do the same work without Public Allies. |
